Me, My Little Brother & Lucy!

As you know I am a HUGE "I LOVE LUCY" Fan! One of my favorite things to do is watch old lucy episodes with a giant bag of peanut m&m's!LOL!!! While my parents are in Florida my youngest brother Christopher stays with us (he refuses to go for two months!LOL!) Christopher has downs syndrome & is the heart & soul of our big Italian family. He is well loved & as a result functions at a really high level. He is an absolute riot & loves to watch "Lucy" episodes with his big sister. The weather is absolutely gloomy here in the northeast right now, so this afternoon we picked from Christophers I LOVE LUCY Library & sat down for a few hours while it snowed to watch Lucy get herself into one disaster after another! It was such a treat to stop in the middle of the day to relax & laugh while the snow fell! Christopher & I LOVE the episode where Lucy & Ethel get jobs at the chocolate factory! It's hysterical & we got to spend time together & laugh! What a way to spend a snowy Monday afternoon! We of course had peanut m&m's!

We're Back!

We are home from our wonderful trip to Florida! We visited my mom & dad who have a home in Naples, Florida & stay there for two months out of the year!(If I were them it would be more like the whole winter!)They miss everyone back home in Mass. & miss their routine so two months is it for them! The weather was beautiful~sunny & mildly hot & my two grandchildren & two neices played in the pool, shopped, & took long walks with me everyday! My grandson who gets so homesick for his mom & dad didn't even want to come back home to the cold weather back home!(I caught him in the closet crying on thursday night because we had to leave the next day!)My mom & dad were so happy to have the grandkids down there that the next day when I called my mom said they were depressed!LOL!)Anyway, we are home & although I HATE the cold weather & absolutely LOVE Florida the best part of any trip is coming home~

Off To Sunny Florida!

Can't wait to hit the warmer weather tomorrow(Feb.19!)I am taking my two grandchildren Gabby & Cole & my two neices Alexandra & Michaela for a quick trip to Naples(back on Friday!)We take off tomorrow afternoon & by Tuesday we will be at the beach or at the pool soaking up the sun! Wish me luck flying with 4 kids!aghhhhhh!Hubby won't be along for the trip so I'm on my own.(until I get to my mom & dads house!)Hopefully I can have some down time & catch up on some reading & sunbathing & shopping while I'm there. It's the perfect escape from this dismal, cold weather here in the northeast. The bougainvillea & hibiscus are EVERYWHERE~everything is SO green & lush! See you when we get back!

Have a wonderful valentines day however you decide to spend it! Here at my house the wind is howling & the roads are icey & we are planning to light a fire, cook some chilli & bake some chocolate chip cookies & just RELAX! Our usual fancy valentines day dinner out with friends will have to wait for the weekend!LOL! I already recieved my first installment of gifts from hubby! Godiva chocolates, beautiful caramel creams(my favorite!)& a bag of chocolate covered peanuts(another favorite!)& as always a beautiful card! Lets see if the little blue "tiffany box" appears tonight!LOL! I have actually requested just a quiet night in & nothing else! Lets see what happens!LOL! My dear friend Tara spoiled me with a wonderful fondue pot from Mckenzie-childs for my 50th birthday in January! I think tonight may be a fondue night too!

I LOVE LUCY!

One of my very favorite re-runs to watch is "I LOVE LUCY" She cracks me up with her mad cap ideas & her best friend Ethel! They are always in trouble with Ricky & Fred(mostly about their shopping habits!LOL!)& EVERY episode is a SCREAM! Some of my family members & dear friends refer to me as Lucy! I even have an "ETHEL!" Ricky is always telling Lucy she has some "splainin to do!"(just like my wonderful hubby does to me!)I LOVE to shop(which sometimes gets me into hot water with my ricky)& my friend "Ethel" & I have been involved in some HILARIOUS situations that could be our own "Lucy Episode!" This is my own little tribute to a housewife & mother from the 50's whose own life reminds me of my own some days!

My Passion For Flowers

Here are a few shots of my backyard gardens! They are usually in full bloom May Through October. They are a lot of work but...they give me so much joy that the work is never a problem. There is an adorable painted playhouse that sits among the gardens for my grandchildren. I swear,I enjoy it more than they do!

Of course my very favorite thing that tops this list is my wonderful family which include my husband , three wonderful children(all grown) & my two precious grandkids Gabriella & Cole (ages 12 & 7) We are a close, busy family with always a million things to do! There is never enough time in the day for me to complete projects, work on my website, even keep my house clean! I have a wonderful mom & dad & 3 brothers & one sister who I am very close to, and an assortment of cousins, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews who I adore! I just turned 50 but really don’t feel any different than I did at 25. I have lots of energy & never sit still! We are always working on our home & it isn’t uncommon for me to have two or three projects going on at once. (my husband is a saint & lets me “do my thing” all the time in the decorating department. I work for a landscaper from spring through fall designing perennial gardens & planting them & doing lots of container plantings for businesses. I LOVE my work outside even though it is back breaking at times. I work out every day so that I can keep up the pace of being so busy! I am so lucky to be able to do what I love to do!
