~~My FAVORITE Shop~~

If you are living in Massachusetts or visiting you need to make "ENCHANTED TREASURES" a stop in your travels! Located in scenic FAIRHAVEN, MA. just a stones throw from Narragansett Bay, this shop is like its name~~ENCHANTING! It's one of my absolutely favorite places to shop! Martha & Roberta (the owners) have done an amazing job filling their shop with wonderful romantic cottage decor! You will find beautiful lamps,(some vintage~some new))window treatments, furniture, accent pieces & all kinds of accessories along with amazing vintage china pieces. They are always so very friendly & helpful & even take customers on a tour of the backroom where vintage finds are given new life with paint or new upholstery! You can find items here that are so hard to find anywhere else. Martha is the one that adds beautiful hand painted touches to furniture, ceiling fans & other wonderful items! Both girls decorate a mantel each month that is featured on their website as well as in their adorable shop!(So many wonderful ideas to implement in your own home) I get so many fabulous ideas in their cozy shop & have recently purchased some wonderful lace panels loaded with fabulous beads & tied with pretty ribbon(functions like a roman shade & balloon treatment)for a big bay window I never knew quite what to put on! Take a look at the pictures of their beautfiul shop & some of their items & check out their website where you can order beautiful items on-line! Click here to go to website->Enchanted Treasures

~WHITE LIGHTS~

I found the most GORGEOUS paint colors at my local paint store BRAND NEW for the season! Benjamin Moore makes these awesome Pearlescent paints that just seem to GLOW when you get them on your walls! Take a look at the pretty colors. The description on the booklet is~The softest breath of white infused with wisps of color and light. Gentle hues of nature whisper hints of a blossoming flower. The sheer puff of a cloud, a luminous ray of sunlight, and the prevailing presence of water refreshens the palette. Tints of color more sensed than seen. Fresh, serene, clear & calming, these are the highlights of the season, the palette of awakening SPRING.One of my friends tried the "Liquid Silver" on her bathroom walls & it is the MOST gorgeous barely there color & just makes the room GLOW! I'm looking for a wall or even a piece of furniture to try these pretty colors out on!:)

Not only are these pieces wonderful but, they have special meaning when special friends have been so generous in giving them!
I LOVE WHIMSY! We all love to decorate our homes in whatever style makes us comfortable & cozy. It can be Romantic, Cottage Style, Victorian, Traditional etc. Any style of decorating can always use a touch of WHIMSY! Here is a definition of the word~
WHIMSY~
1. capricious humor or disposition; extravagant, fanciful, or excessively playful expression: a play with lots of whimsy.
2. an odd or fanciful notion.
3. anything odd or fanciful; a product of playful or capricious fancy: a whimsy from an otherwise thoughtful writer.

I collect wonderful MacKENZIE-CHILDS pieces because to me they are whimsical, unique & playful (all of the words used to describe whimsy in the dictionary definition!)In other words their pieces make me smile :) They are made well, painted in the most gorgeous colors & look absolutely GORGEOUS on a table set with mixed MacKenzie pieces. You can incorporate their pretty pieces into ANY style decor and enjoy their fun, playful, unique look! ~A PINK Baby Shower~

The baby shower we hosted for my sister-in-law Ashlynn was a huge success & such a blast! It's always so nice to see people having fun & enjoying delicious things to eat! Ashlynn got so many wonderful gifts, that I don't think they will even have to buy anything for Emily when she arrives! I can not believe how much things have changed since I had my children. There is a gadget or product for EVERYTHING under the sun to make baby & mommy comfortable!
We haven't had a baby in the family for some time so we are all so happy to be welcoming little Emily soon. Her due date is on her mom's birthday April 10, which is also my brother Arthur's birthday, & my neice Alexandra's birthday!
My mom did an unbelievable job on the main course(as usual)& made EVERY single cookie we served. I love Paula Deen's magazine so when I got the latest edition I gave it to my mom to read & she made the chocolate cookie dough balls, the delicious shortbread-like cookies, the petite little butter cookies with the pink roses, & MY favorite the wedding cookies. You can see these cookies in Paula Deens latest publication. I think I may have gotten the names wrong on some of the delicious cookies but you'll recognize them.
Lots of presents! Lots of Family & Lot's of FUN!! Did I mention lots of work too???LOL! I am still digging out here this morning from the shower. I'm hoping to be done soon so I can make my painting class at 1:00 today!:) These are some of the pictures from the shower. Note that my brother Tommy has a shocked look on his face when he posed for a picture with his wife~He thinks he has to LOAD all the gifts into the cars himself! We all pitched in & they were on their way~

I've Been So Busy!!!

I have been away from my Blog now for a few days. My mom, sister & I are giving my sister-in-law Ashlynn a BABY SHOWER On Sunday & there has been so much to do! We are having it at my home & just getting the house cleaned & set up for the shower is a huge task(but a fun one) Good thing my mom is cooking most of the food! It will be around 30 people, so that is a nice group & we LOVE to cook everything when we can because it makes it so much more intimate & special! (I think that's an Italian thing LOL!) We will report in on how it went complete with pictures. It should be a beautiful day~the temperature is finally starting to climb here in the Northeast & we are expecting 70 degree weather! yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I need to add that my sister-in-law is 42 & this is her FIRST baby! By the time Emily Frances is born my brother will be getting ready to turn 45! I don't know if I could do the baby thing at that age! Maybe it's because I had my children so young (started at 20) Anyway, their lives will certainly be different from now on!:)

She has a wonderful style that mixes english cottage, french country & victorian chic to make her home cozy, relaxing, & so wonderful to visit all the time! On top of all of her talent, she is a very sweet person who is always willing to lend a hand on any one of her friends decorating projects or decorating dilemnas! Enjoy peggy's beautiful home!
