What is it about little boys that just looking at them makes your heart melt? I was watching my grandson Coles baseball game on Wednesday night & remembering back to when my own "little boy" was involved in all the things little boys are involved in! He was a good little athlete who loved his sports & participated in them all. Of course my husband made the ultimate sacrifice & always coached his teams whether it was baseball, basketball or football (I took care of schleping him back & forth to tennis)He is a grown man now going on 26 & he is such great son. I am so lucky to be able to watch another of my "little boys" grow up & enjoy all over again the things my grandson loves to do. We enjoy the girls in the family enormously but..... there is just something about little boys. :)Enjoy some pictures of my son & my grandson! (the one with the BIG BLUE EYES is my grandson Cole)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We are just back from our beach house in Narragansett, Rhode Island after a busy weekend of opening it up for the summer season. We LOVE it down at the beach & would some day like to move there full time. Our house is a small cozy stucco cottage nestled between lots of pretty perennial gardens & only two streets up from our own little neighborhood beach. Lots of fun on our boat or just sunning & relaxing & enjoying the water. I always hate to leave~it's the one place where I truly relax & re-charge my batteries. We are near everything down in south county. Newport RI is a stones throw over the bridge! Block Island is a quick 1 hour ferry ride from Point Judith & the town beaches are right down the street! Plenty of awesome restaurants to enjoy after a day in the sun too! The quaint little antique shops I frequent, are always filled to the brim with sweet vintage finds! So much to do & such a pretty part of Rhode Island. Here are some pictures of Narragansett & my "DREAM COTTAGE" right on the ocean!LOL! I will post pics of our cozy little cottage at some point when all the perennials are in bloom & my projects inside the house are finished! For now enjoy my little dream cottage!

I have been so sick with the stomach flu from hell this week & it has kept me down now for 2 whole days! I don't remember having one this bad in a long time. Although my stomach upset is gone, the aches & pain & weakness are still with me! I get up to do a few things & go right back to the couch to watch a lifetime movie or sleep a bit! I hate being sick & not able to be productive! My children are grown & on their own for the most part but I still PANIC when I get sick because I'm the one who takes care of everyone! Every mother & wife out there feels the same panic as I do when they aren't able to do things for their family. My 22 & 29 year old daughters & soon to be 26 year old son, grandchildren~oh yes & hubby also, have told
me in the last few days that they hate it when I get sick & are so used to seeing me busy as a bee either with my garden work, watching the grandkids, doing a a dozen projects around the house at once, cooking, shopping etc. etc.... that they too PANIC when they see me stuck on the couch so sick! My mom calls at least every few hours to get an update & always has her take on why I got this bug. "You do to much around the house" "You spread yourself to thin" "You've lost to much weight"(I love that one!) I keep reminding her that it's JUST a virus & I didn't bring it on myself! LOL!
I don't think we really realize how much we do as wives, mothers, daughters, grandmothers, etc. etc. day to day. My wish for everyone this coming mothers day is to RELAX & ENJOY your special day & be THANKFUL for being able to do all we do for our families & friends! ~HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!~

I can't believe it! My little brother Christopher is 40! He actually still looks like he is 18. He is adorable & sweet & we all are so inspired by his outlook on life & the fact that he is ALWAYS smiling & loves just about everybody! Everybody knows him too! He knows 411 operators all around the country(he loves the phone), he knows the mayor of the city very well, most of the police & fire departments, teachers, principals, superintendants, coaches~The list goes on & on! His sparkling, engaging personality make people seek him out wherever he goes. We sometimes tell him that HE was the one that graduated from Tufts University & not our DAD! He is a riot & there is always a funny Christopher story to tell at get togethers. He is a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, godfather & friend to so many people that his 40th birthday bash just had to include all he is so close to! His dear friends from New York(who he met on a cruise to Bermuda 8 years ago) made the 4 hour long trip to help him celebrate his special birthday! This was a year in the making & everything went off without a hitch. He requested to be carried in like a king & he was, by his brothers & nephews. The d.j. played all his favorite songs (his dancing to LOVE SHACK was such a hoot!)My brother & our dear friend from NY were a riot in being the co-masters of ceremony which included a hilarious roast in honor of Christopher. My brother arthurs' toast to our brother made people double over in laughter & wipe away tears as he spoke of all the ways Christopher has inspired us all, with his unconditional love of people & his ability to draw so many special people to him. He knows no boundries as far as expecting the very best for himself & sets goals & reaches most of them! He is the center of our large, crazy busy family & is a role model for all of us. His 40th birthday bash was celebrated with ALL the special people in his life & he is SO worth all the hard work that went into planning this special event, that brought together 130 people in honor of this special guy! Enjoy some pictures of my little brothers birthday celebration!!!:)I wish I could post ALL the pictures of this fun filled night! :)

Please enjoy some shots of another one of my favorite shops! "THE OLDE THYME SHOPPE" is a wonderful shop that is located a stones throw from me in Norton Ma. They carry a huge selection of decorative accessories for the shabby, victorian, english & french inspired home. Owned & operated by Susan & Dana this shop is a MUST SEE if you are ever in the area. Besides decorative home accessories & gift items, they operate a nursery with the most amazing plants for the romantic home! You will find perennials, annuals & an assortment of topiaries in all shapes & sizes & plant types! Lovely gift baskets can be filled with their wonderful crabtree & evelyn products, flowering plants & other gorgeous gift items! I frequent this shop all the time & buy many plants for my home & those of my garden customers homes here. It's always fun to find something that will look lovely & fit into my romantic themed
home~It could be lovely linens, a beautiful print, or a wonderful teapot from their extensive collection. They also carry a line of pocketbooks, scarves & GORGEOUS romantic wedding dresses & evening wear. Once you've visited you will know why this is a very favorite shop of mine!
